Arnold Haven is a small, family-run pair of cabins in Arnold, California — Chalet Bruin and the Koda Loft — booked directly with the people who actually own, fix, clean and stock them.
Our story
How Chalet Bruin happened
It started the way most good decisions don't: opening a laptop at 8:03 in the morning and immediately fantasizing about disappearing into the trees. Instead of doing anything sensible about that, we bought a mountain chalet.
That chalet is Chalet Bruin — an A-frame in Arnold, California, a short drive from Bear Valley, White Pines Lake, Sierra foothill wine country, caverns, rivers and a great deal of forest. Notably absent: mandatory video calls.
Somehow the ridiculous idea worked. Families came up. Friend groups escaped the city. Thoroughly fried employees rediscovered sunlight. One guest sat and looked at trees for three hours and described it, with total sincerity, as life-changing.
Since then we've added the Koda Loft next door, learned an unreasonable amount about septic systems and snow loads, and kept the whole thing in the family rather than handing it to someone who would rename it a disruption lodge. Real guests, real reviews, real bookings — you can just come stay here.

Lindsey Becker
Owner — nurse by day, interior designer on weekends
Lindsey brings the vision and the details to life. A registered nurse during the week and an interior designer on the weekends, she curates the look, feel and flow of Chalet Bruin — from the finishes you notice to the moments you remember.
She believes good design makes more than a pretty room: it makes connection, comfort and memories that stick.
Ryan Becker
Owner — digital marketer by day, weekend builder & operator
Ryan is the owner and the engine behind the business. Digital marketing by day — strategy, growth and everything online — and on weekends you'll find him on small construction jobs, property improvements and operations to keep the cabins running.
He's mostly here to build better stays for guests and a stronger future for the property.
Katie Stone
Co-host — full-time local lead and Arnold, CA guide
Katie is our full-time local co-host and the go-to Arnold guide. She manages our cleaning team, oversees guest experience and makes sure every stay is smooth, welcoming and memorable.
From dinner recommendations to last-minute needs, she's the one who makes it happen — with care and a smile.
